SPECIAL EVENTS
We feel that the best cruise
is one with no itinerary, so all of our trips are special. However,
we do participate in some special events that are always fun for
passengers and crew.
|
Schooner Gam
This is an informal gathering of several of Maine's schooners, usually on Monday night.
A chance to see everyone rafted together in a small intimate harbor.
|
Windjammer
Days
The schooners arrive in the Boothbay area Tuesday afternoon for
a huge island lobster picnic, then sail into Boothbay Harbor on
Wednesday and anchor amidst band concerts, a parade ashore and evening
fireworks. |
Schooner
Race
Schooners begin gathering the evening before the race. Come morning,
the captains meet to determine the event's course. With the boom
of the ship's cannon, the race is on! The HERITAGE, with
the help of crew and passengers alike has been the Leeward Class
winner five times and the overall winner in 1990, 2000 and 2002.
|
Windjammer Lighthouse Parade
Experience what it was like when the nation's highways were the seas. Join in the excitement when several of Maine's windjammers sail into Rockland Harbor Friday afternoon and anchor near the historic breakwater and explore the lighthouse.
|
Music
Festival
Early in the week we end our day by anchoring in picturesque Burnt Coat Harbor for an evening musical variety show ashore. We'll buy your ticket! |
Windjammer
Celebration
Friday we sail into Camden Harbor and dock for the night. Festivities include a chance to see the other windjammers as well as stroll around the village. The evening ends with fireworks over the harbor. |
WoodenBoat
Sail-In
An informal get-together celebrating wooden boats. On Tuesday, the vessels anchor in front of WoodenBoat Magazine's waterfront on scenic Eggemoggin Reach. Guests are welcome to tour the WoodenBoat school and bookstore. |
Coast Week
We have been informal stewards of this portion of the coastline for over thirty years. Join us as we do our part to preserve the natural beauty of our coast for future generations. |
Fall Sailing
Fall brings crisp, clear sailing days and night skies filled with stars. |
